2026 Independence Day Parade

Please read carefully

We have been selected to participate in our country's 250th celebration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.  This is a huge honor and a "once in a lifetime opportunity" for The Strikers and you as members.  

High-Level Details

The parade will take place in Philadelphia down the historic Pennsylvania Avenue on July 3rd of 2026.  There is a possibility to participate in two other local parades on July 4th

Our plan is to leave Crystal Lake on July 2nd so that we have plenty of time to ensure a safe trip to Philadelphia.  The parade is almost 3 miles long.  We will swap people in/out of the parade route to ensure everyone gets a break when required.  

Transportation to the event will be provided by a bus or several vans, and shared hotel locations for 2 nights.   If we participate in the two parades on the 4th, we will leave immediately following those parades to travel back to Crystal Lake.

Decision Time

We need to make a final decision by June 1st, 2025 (a few weeks away).  A portion of the cost will be paid by the Strikers, but depending on our fundraising effort, we may need to have members pay a portion as well.
